Leading While Depressed: Finding my way back to myself

An Excerpt:

Having supported so many leaders in crisis, now I was the one in need. And thank heavens, support showed up. A community of people held me — relatives, friends, neighbors, colleagues, therapists, and spiritual advisors. And I returned to contemplative and meditative practices that grounded me, slowly opening up hope. That hope emerged from memories of what I had already overcome, and dreams — conjured in meditation — of what could still be. It embodied a transcendent possibility, rooted in the steadfast belief that — while the moral arc of the universe is long — it does, as King reminds us, bend toward justice, peace, and renewal.
